Thorncliffe Chapel was built in 1839 originally as a Primitive Methodist Chapel.
Until it worship ceased at the church services were held most Sundays with a small but committed worshipping congregation of about 10 people​. Thorncliffe's final service took place on Sunday September 26th lead by Reverend Richard Pope.
